Synopsis

Mukti is a multi-platform project that tells the story of Masha, a 14-year-old girl, who experiences her first Chhaupadi, a ritual that exiles women for 14 days throughout their menstrual cycle. Masha must overcome the physical and spiritual trials of her rite of passage, where food, water, and resources are scarce, to become the goddess Parvati.

Audiences will undergo a multisensory experience as they dive into Masha's journey at the theater, while accessing her spiritual journey on their phones, which will present a cinematic view of Masha’s ritual.

Audiences worldwide will be able to access a digital Livestream of the play during the New York City run.
